Esteban Ramirez Jr

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Esteban Ramirez Jr., affectionately known as Steve to those who loved him. Born on May 2, 1939, in Raymondville, TX, Esteban hailed from humble beginnings, helping his family harvest fruits and vegetables in Michigan during his youth as a migrant worker. This early experience sowed the seeds of a strong work ethic and a profound appreciation for the simple joys in life – a legacy he proudly passed on to his children and grandchildren.

Esteban was a man of many talents, but he was best known for his career as an exceptional mechanic in the automotive industry which was driven by his passion for sports cars. Aside from his career in mechanics he wore many other hats as he was a truck driver and delivered milk for Golden Jersey Dairy Company. Esteban's hands were as kind as they were skilled, always ready to help those in need. He was known to always enjoy pleasant conversations with his customers and friends. Beyond his professional life, Esteban was an ardent lover of Tejano music and enjoyed his attempts at playing his guitar and a harmonica with his mother, affectionately known as Wuelita Fela who blessed him with the harmonica. He was a passionate outdoorsman, finding peace and joy in the simple pleasures of camping and fishing with family.

Esteban is survived by his children, Norma Linda, Esteban III, Daniel, Brenda, and Ricardo Ramirez; his 13 grandchildren; his siblings Olga Martinez, Odilia Fuentes, Olvida Ramirez, Orfelinda Watts, Hermegildo Ramirez, and Manuel Ramirez. He is preceded in death by his parents, Esteban Sr. and Felicitas Castro; his son, Roberto Ramirez; his sisters, Olivia Casarez, Oralia Ramirez, Ofilia De La Garza; his brother, Heliberto Ramirez; and his granddaughter, Elysa Ramirez.

A visitation and viewing will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 4:00- 9:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:00 pm. Both will take place at Family Funeral Home, located at 812 East Cano Street, Edinburg, Texas, 78539.
